Johns Hopkins Registration must be completed online by November 20

Here is some information that is not easily found on the Johns Hopkins website.  The application for this year has changed slightly from last year.  The On-line Application has three drop-down lists for your child's qualifying test.  They are Math, Verbal, and Composite.  You only need to fill out one of these.  Here is a list to help you decide which drop down list you need.

If you would like to have your child participate in the Talent Search complete the application online at www.cty.jhu.edu.  The registration fee is $35 and must be postmarked by November 20, 2008 to test in January.  There is also a separate application fee of $35 for the test (paid later when you register to test).

Practice SAT Classes at Central Catholic 

Mr. Fran McGouldrick, Mathematics chair at Central Catholic High School, offers optional preparation classes for students that will be taking the SAT test for the Johns Hopkins CTY program.  Classes are conducted in the following content areas:

 

Algebra I          12/13    9:30 - 11:30

Algebra II         12/20    9:30 - 11:30

Geometry          1/10    9:30 - 11:30

Practice SAT      1/17    9:30 - 12:00

Actual SAT         1/24    Students will be informed of testing location

All classes are Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M.  There is a $10.00 registration fee for the entire set of four classes.  Please send a check made out to Francis McGouldrick to OLH School by November 21st so that I may register your child for the preparatory classes.  The classes are presented to expose your child to some of the more advanced topics of the SAT test.  These classes are entirely optional.  You may attend as many as you wish.
