Curriculum

Our Lady of Hungary Regional School believes the purpose of Catholic School is to educate the whole child in a safe and loving environment.  The Our Lady of Hungary curriculum provides a variety of opportunities to build a good foundation for learning and encourages students to grow in awareness of self and others through the love of God.  The curriculum follows the standard set by the Diocese of Allentown.

  • Preschool: In a nurturing and loving setting, our preschool classes offer age-appropriate activities which will encourage the religious, social, physical and academic development of the children.  In our program the children will gain an understanding of how special they are and develop an appreciation for one another.  They are encouraged to become more independent, to express themselves and their needs and to appropriately resolve conflicts during play.  We focus on improving listening skills, following directions, problem solving and building self-confidence.  Daily activities provide opportunities for both successes and challenges.  Throughout the year the children enjoy learning about God, stories, music, art projects and hands-on Math activities.  We encourage the development of motor and language skills daily.  Learning games provide enjoyment as the children are improving their skills.  Our program for four-year-olds is extended to include an introduction to the Mass, prayers, pre-printing, reading and math readiness activities as we prepare the children for kindergarten.  In our preschool classroom the children find comfort, friendship and joy as we pray, play, grow and learn together.
