Grade 6

Our new school year is off to a good start.  Last week my students took home the homework and discipline policies which almost everyone has already returned.  In social studies I also gave out information for the current events notebook that will be required of each student for each quarter.  If you did not see that information, please ask your child about it.  The current events notebooks are due one week before the end of each quarter, so for the first quarter they are due October 24.  They may be turned in early any time before October 17 for 10 extra credit points.  I will talk more about this project at Back to School Night on September 18.  Please e-mail me or send me a note if you have any questions.

Grade 5

The 5th graders seem to be adjusting well to switching for 3 classes.  They come to me for math, science, and social studies.  I will generally give homework ever day in math class (except Friday) and sometimes in science and social studies.  We are working on a packet on Canada in social studies right now.  Canada is not covered in our book.  All of the material for our first test will come from the packet including being able to label all of Canada's provinces and territories on a map.
