8TH
GRADE
WELCOME BACK!!
It is wonderful seeing everyone back from
a relaxing summer.
8th Grade is an important year. It is a year of making tough decisions:
deciding
where to go to
high school, deciding what responsibilities to have, deciding how
to behave, and
how to budget time when there are a lot of assignments.
In Literature class, the students
are working on projects for That Was Then
This is Now and
The Call of the Wild. They
are truly creative.
The 8th Grade has
received their dates for their PowerPoint presentations.
November 10th is the
starting date for their oral presentations.
They will be starting their
Persuasive essays later in September. I
am looking
forward to reading
some strong opinions.
Starting in November, papers will
be going home about their high school
choice. Graduation information will be going home
later in the year. Time flies
and before you know it, graduation will be
here.
The students will need to buy 2
books for Literature class:
1. Anne Frank-The Diary of a Young Girl with the introduction by
Eleanor Roosevelt. We will
start this book in November.
2. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. We will start this book in March.
