Our Lady of Hungary Regional School

                                   GRADE 8

                                    In Religion, we are learning how the Church was the most important institution

                      for the people in the Middle Ages.  We are also learning about the importance of

                     Crusades.  Was Pope Urban an ancestor of our teacher, Ms. Urban?

                          In English, we are learning Infinitives.  Can we spot the Hidden Infinitives and

                     the Split Infinitives?  We are also finishing our Persuasive Essays.  Many students

                     have the potential to be great debaters.

                          In Literature, we are reading and interpreting poetry.  It seems that some

                     poems just do not make sense.  We will also be reading folk tales, tall tales,

                    and mythology.

                          Exams will be starting soon.  Watch for the schedule.

                    Information about graduation will be handed out soon. 

                    Dates to remember:

                      May 9th - Persuasive Essay due

                     May 12th - Girls - "What Mary means to Me" essay for the May Procession

                     June 3rd - 8th Grade Picnic
