Welcome to Our Lady of Hungary Regional School's Preschool.  We are excited to begin another school year , welcoming back our old friends and getting to know our new friends.  This is a special time in your child's life, and we are pleased to be sharing it with him/her.  Together we will be learning, growing and experiencing special moments in preschool.

      This month we will be getting the children familiar with our daily routines.  Each day we will follow the same schedule to assist the children in their preschool adjustment.  We will be working in both small and large groups, having both quiet and more active experiences, and enjoying teacher directed and independent activities.  We will encourage socialization between children and guide them in appropriate group behaviors.  We hope that the children will share their preschool experiences with you at the end of each day.  To assist you in this discussion, our monthly calendar will usually have a hint about something we are doing in class each day.

     During September we will be learning about God and how special we are.  We will be teaching the children the Sign of the Cross and composing a class prayer with the them.  We will be learning about colors and the changes we will see as fall approaches.  At the end of the month we will be talking about the woods, what animals we'd find there and how they are preparing for the changing seasons.  We will be talking about our weather each day and begin reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 

     Throughout the year we will be developing skills through age-appropriate activities.  We will incorporate music, games, stories, and movement into many of our lessons to encourage participation and enjoyment as the children learn together.  Listening, language and motor skills will develop through daily activities.  We will be busy but enjoying ourselves as we learn and play together.

      We thank you for choosing Our Lady of Hungary Regional School for your preschool child this year.  We look forward to making happy memories, and sharing a year of growth, learning and friendship with your child.

Reminders:

Please remember to bring identification with you at pick-up.  Also, anyone picking up your child must be on your authorization list and provide matching identification.

Please return your child's paperwork to us, if you have not already done so.

We are asking each family to donate a box of tissues, a box of wipes and a $5.00 special activity fee.  Thank you for your contributions.

Scholastic Book Orders are due on Thursday, September 11 for the Tuesday-Thursday children and Friday, September 12 for our Monday-Wednesday-Friday children.  Of course, ordering books is an option.

"Back to School Night" is Thursday, September 18 at 6:30 P.M. in the  gym.
