Welcome to Our Lady of Hungary Regional School's Preschool.  We are excited to begin this special year with your child.  We are looking forward to getting to know each child and sharing all those wonderful moments unique to childhood.

This month we will be getting the children familiar with their daily routines.  We will be following the same schedule each day to assist the children in their adjustment to preschool.  There will be both quiet and more active opportunities throughout the day.  Everyone will experience working as a class and also in small groups.  We  will encourage socialization between the children and guide them in appropriate school behaviors.  We hope that the children will share their memories of preschool with you each day.  We encourage you to ask you children about preschool and to have them express themselves through this discussion.

Each month you will receive a calendar which will highlight our weekly themes, birthdays for the month, our Show and Tell schedule for our Tuesday/Thursday class, and an activity which we will be doing on a given day.  It is our hope that this information on the calendar will act as a springboard for your discussions about  preschool each day.

During September we will be learning about God and how special we are.  Each class will write their own class prayer which we will say each day.  We will be exploring colors and learning about the changes which will occur as fall approaches.  We will be introducing everyone to the varied activities we will be doing this year including painting, singing, counting, and identifying the weather each day.  The individual classes will have age-appropriate activities which will meet their needs at this time of their development.

Throughout the year we will be developing new skills and reviewing old ones.  While we encourage the children to participate in our group activities, there will also be opportunities for them to pursue individual interests.  We will be using learning games, music, movement, listening, small motor and language activities to further their development.  The children will be busy, but enjoying themselves, as they learn and play together.

Thank you for entrusting your children to us this year.  We are looking forward to making happy memories and growing together.
