2009-2010 School Year Wrap Up

Thank you to all who volunteered for and supported our PSA events this year. We hope everyone enjoyed them. Last month’s Skateaway event was a lot of fun and was a nice family event to make-up for the cancellation of Family Bingo!

The money we earned from our fundraising events this year paid for Science and Social Studies textbooks, the BMX assembly, hockey equipment for the after school sports program, Skateaway family fun night, among other things. We also anticipate being able to purchase the computer carts for the classrooms, the 8^th grade memory books and Rita’s water ice for field day this year. Thank you for all your contributions in helping us to achieve these goals!

Inkjet, Laser Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling

Please remember to send in your empty cartridges and old cell phones. Our cartridge/cell phone recycling program is a terrific and easy way to earn money for our school.

Walkathon 2010

Preparations are underway for the fall Walkathon. If you would like to be a part of the planning committee, please send a note to PSA or email one of the officers. Over the summer, a theme for the walk is decided, sponsors and donations are gathered and decisions for prizes are made. The assembly which follows the walk will also be selected.

Treasurer’s Report

The account balance as of 4/30/10 is $14,431.21.

We received a check for Redner’s receipts in the amount of $224.46

Expenses:

Skateaway balance and skate rental $181.00

5^th Grade Pizza Party (Walkathon prize) $58.30

Ink Cartridge $34.99

Drinks for Field Day $37.05

1^st Grade Ice Cream Party (Walkathon) $5.98

To date, a total of $ 1028.99 has been distributed to the teachers for their $100 classroom reimbursement for this year.

HAVE A SAFE AND FUN SUMMER!

Redner’s Save-A-Tape Program
Please remember to save your Redner’s receipts. You must use the ‘Save-A-Tape’ card for the receipt to count. These cards are available in the school office. Also, please send in the entire receipt - Redner’s will only honor whole receipts. Last year, this program earned over $690.00 for our school.

Printer/Toner Cartridges/Cell Phones
Please keep sending in the used laser, inkjet, and toner cartridges; also used cell phones. Just put the old cartridge in the new cartridge box and send it to school with your child, or drop it off inside the main entrance of the school. This is an easy way to earn money for our school and recycle!

Target VISA
Do you have a Target Charge Card or Target Visa? If so, our school can receive a percentage of each purchase in the form of a cash donation from Target through their “Take Charge of “Education” program. It’s easy to get started – visit target.com (see instructions below) or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate our school. A big thank you to those who are already participating – you have helped to raise over $700 through this program.
